Frequently Asked Questions: Wedding Photography at Parkway Hotel & Spa

What are the best locations for photos at the Parkway Hotel & Spa?

keyboard_arrow_down

The Parkway is a fantastic venue for photography because of its variety. The seven acres of manicured gardens are a highlight, featuring the famous "wedding swing," the birdcage gazebo, and the "kissing seat," all of which provide a romantic, classic backdrop. If the weather is typically Welsh, the newly refurbished patio and the elegant Crystal Suite offer plenty of beautiful indoor alternatives with great light.

How do you handle the "formal" group shots at this venue?

keyboard_arrow_down

While my style is primarily documentary (capturing natural, unscripted moments), I know family portraits are important. At the Parkway, I usually recommend doing these on the lawn or by the patio. I keep this part of the day efficient and relaxed so you can get back to your guests and enjoy the hotel's excellent hospitality as quickly as possible.

We’re having a large wedding in the Pembroke Suite; can you capture everyone?

keyboard_arrow_down

Absolutely. The Parkway is known for being able to host large celebrations (up to 500 guests!). Because I focus on the atmosphere and the "full story" of the day, I make sure to capture the scale of the reception and the candid moments of your guests enjoying themselves, no matter how large the party.

Do you capture both candid and group photos?

keyboard_arrow_down

Yes - I capture a mix of relaxed, natural moments along with a small number of organised group photos if you’d like them.

Have you photographed at the Parkway Hotel before?

keyboard_arrow_down

Yes, I am very familiar with the Parkway Hotel & Spa. Being based nearby in Griffithstown, it is one of my local venues. I know exactly where the light falls at different times of the day and which corners of the gardens offer the most privacy for your couple’s portraits.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

The Parkway has spacious, elegant interiors like the Ravello’s Restaurant area and the private banqueting suites. These spaces have plenty of character for indoor portraits. I also use professional lighting equipment to ensure your photos look bright and natural, even if we’re tucked away inside the hotel.

Do you offer aerial or drone photography at the Parkway?

keyboard_arrow_down

Yes! As a CAA-licensed drone operator, I can provide a unique aerial perspective of the hotel’s stunning grounds and your guests gathered on the patio. This is a great way to capture the scale of the seven-acre estate and the surrounding Torfaen countryside.
